About Me

I have always loved making things for parties or events we've hosted but it wasn't until I got my Cricut cutting machine that my entire crafting world opened up. I live in Cobble Hill, BC on Vancouver Island with my husband Carl and our 9 year-old English Bulldog Nugget, Nugget is "pure joy" most of the time:) she has two cancers, a chemadectoma by her heart and a mast cell tumor on her paw, but it doesn't stop her from living her best life everyday. She is the inspiration behind my craft shack. 
I have spent many long nights in my craft room working on project after project while Nugget snores silently beside me, who am I kidding she doesn't snore quietly and most of the time the cutting machine makes too much noise for her so she leaves me:)

I love handcrafted animal-themed items but I had a hard time finding what I was looking for, gifts for friends and family or for myself so I decided why not make what I couldn't find? That's how Karalyn's Craft Shack started. I have MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and crafting has been a way for me to work on my terms. In a world full of everything tech and mass produced items I love a handmade gift. I love personalizing items and seeing friends and family truly enjoy what they have received. 

You will find a lot of animal-themed items on this site that is where my passion is but I also like to be a bit cheeky so you will also find other handmade crafts with a cheeky twist.
